May 14
Thank you for your support of the Jump Rope for Heart program. It was great to see students so involved in practicing their skipping skills. We have some great skippers with lots of tricks. As a school, we raised over $14 000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. WOW! Way to go Lochearn!
Today we had a celebration to wrap up our last sequence, The Sugaring Off Party, in Language Arts. The students enjoyed an authentic French Canadian dish--crepes and maple syrup. Thank you to Madame Morin for sharing her experiences of growing up in Quebec and taking part in the annual tradition of maple sugar making.
On Wednesday morning there will be a presentation by Parks Canada in the gym. Also at 12:45 there will be a picture taken outside of all students and staff of Lochearn School, weather permitting.
We will be having a wetlands presentation on Thursday, May 17.
Spelling test will be Thursday, new words will be sent home after the long weekend.
The deadline for Camp Evergreen forms is Friday, May 25.
With the warmer weather, students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to prevent dehydration.
There is no school Friday or Monday, Victoria Day. Enjoy the long weekend.
