Just a reminder that Camp Evergreen payment and permission forms were due on Friday, May 25. Please get the payment in ASAP.
On Tuesday, May 29 the Grade Five students will be visiting Pioneer School for a tour and information session. If you would like to accompany the group in order to learn about the Pioneer school and their programs, you are welcome to join. The group will be heading over just prior to 1:45 p.m. when the tour begins. The students will return to Lochearn just after 3 p.m.
Thursday, May 31st is the Track and Field Day over at Curtis Field. We will be leaving the school at 9:00 and returning at 3:00. Please feel free to come and cheer on your child. The concession will be open all day for students to enjoy. Please ensure that your child has sunscreen, hat, appropriate clothing, and a water bottle for the day.
Spelling test will be Wednesday May 30th. New words will come home the following Monday.
We will be having air band for grades 3, 4, 5, near the end of June. If students are interested in air band, they will need to have a copy of lyrics and song to hand in by June 8/12. Practice time will be done on their own or arranged with their teacher.
We are preparing for Celebration Day. If your child did not get school photos taken in Kindergarten at Lochearn, please send a photo for me to include in our slide show. If you are able to send a digital copy, please send it to [email protected] or [email protected]. . If you would rather provide a hard copy, we will scan it and return the original to you promptly. Thank you for your help.
Focus I can Statements for this week:
Science – I can recognize that changes in part of an environment have effects on the whole environment.
Social –I can explain how confederation lead to French and English becoming Canada’s two official languages.
Math – I can solve problems that involve two digit by two digit multiplication and 3 by 1 division.
LA – I can listen to other’s viewpoints to improve my understanding.
